The Street Art House opens in Marina Del Rey





Great opening night with eight talented artists curated by Paper + Fabric and Desiree Pakravan at Qart Gallery in Marina Del Rey (480 W Washington Blvd).  These are only a fraction of the pieces, so get there while you can.  Show runs through 9/2 with an ongoing auction to benefit LA’s Best.  Check out more after the break…

South Park and the Do Art Foundation Team Up Downtown

Lots of art has just converged Downtown…  As part of a larger, ongoing Public Art Initiative, South Park and the Do Art Foundation have teamed up with local artist Sheri Neva to overhaul 11 utility boxes in the district.  Inspired by the neighborhood, Sheri painted the boxes using her signature style of abstract microscopic photography to take a closer look at South Park itself.  South Park will host a FREE guided tour on 8/18 from 5pm-8pm across these boxes as well as the new murals (Angelina Christina, Kent Twitchell, Cryptik, Faith47, and more).  Click here for more info on the event and click through for more shots…

Broken Fingaz at Howard Griffin Gallery Downtown

IMG_0488.JPG        Journey Galactiko: Broken Fingaz first show in LA… Known for pioneering the graffiti movement in Israel, they spent several months traveling and working across India to bring an influence of style, symbolism, and culture back for this show.  Oh, and they built a freakin’ temple in the middle of the gallery.
